A girls got to love herself...

February 8, 2018

And that's how this design came about, there are lots of buzz words about at the moment regarding self care and showing support to females and its something that I feel strongly about, mainly because I'm a mother and have a daughter (and a son, we cant forget the boys) growing up in the world we live in today and a newly teenage daughter at that. Which is really how our Heart not Hate Collection was designed, my daughter and I where having a conversation regarding been comfortable in your own skin and supporting other people and other girls in general and how no person is the same and that's what makes the world so beautiful and interesting and as they say an idea was born....

So I set to work and drew up the design by hand with lots of tweaking and self doubt if anyone would even like it, which is pretty much how all my designs start. While setting all these wheels in motion all I kept thinking to myself was how I wanted to spread this message of self love, body positivity, supporting each other and just been a general badass but most importantly been YOU with a design but also how I wanted to give something back and this is where I found the organisation Girls Out Loud.

Their mantra is as follows,

Be bold, be brave, be beautiful, but most importantly be you because you are already enough and absolutely perfect just the way you are.

Girls Out Loud is an organisation which runs intervention programs in high schools to help teenage girls and also a big sister programme with the emphasis to embed a more empowering mindset in girls. You can visit their website to read more here

So for the first 3 months from launch every purchase that is made from our Heart not Hate Collection a small donation will be made to this charity, I hope you all get involved in spreading a little bit of self love and kindness to others.
